National Convention (Barbados)

January 13 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm AST

2024 church without walls

Theme: “Reach, Retain & Reclaim”

Purpose

To Launch the Year of Evangelism and the “My Brother’s Keeper” Initiative

Objectives For The Convention/Convocation

Convocation is understood to be a gathering of all the Seventh-day Adventists on the Island in a single place. In convocation, individuals are assembled formally for worship and fellowship.

The purpose for the gathering is to:

💧 Inspire the members to a powerful life in Christ through prayer, praise, drama, Bible study, and proclamation of the word.
💧 Motivate members to resume face-to-face church as a habitual feature of our corporate worship.
💧 Reclaim missing and inactive members
💧 Promote Christian fellowship and strengthen membership morale in a multi-cultural open air environment.
💧 Present the Vision of the Administration to the members
💧 Rally the membership around all aspects of the ECC Year of Evangelism and the My Brother’s Keeper Initiative

Venue: Oldbury Camp Ground, St. Philip, Barbados. The Children and Youth shall worship in the auditorium and the adults will worship in the open air on the lawns and grounds of Oldbury.

Dress Code: Formal dress is not required. Members are encouraged to dress comfortably and modestly for Sabbath outdoor worship: no trousers for females, no shorts.

What to Bring: All members are invited to bring a Folding chair, Family and Friends, Food and come for Fellowship… and oh, bring a “Funbrella.” Members are also asked to travel with adequate amounts of drinking water.

Streaming: This event will NOT be streamed live.

Zones: Each Zone will dress in an assigned colour. Clothing may be branded with the Church Project RESET Logo. Such branding would be in the purview of the local church and not the Conference. Adventurers, Pathfinders, and Master Guides are asked to dress in Class B (field) uniform as it applies to your club.

Important Information

Transportation: Each district is encouraged to provide transportation from the churches within the district to the venue. Members should not be left to take public transport. Carpooling is advised.

Parking And Shuttle: The Barbados Police Service will be providing traffic and crowd control. Priority parking will be provided for a limited number of vehicles inside Oldbury upon presentation of a special pass. Additional parking will be provided for all others in attendance.

First Aid: A medical team shall be on hand to deal with minor issues. PLEASE bring any medication that you are currently taking for any conditions you may have.

Safety And Security
For the safety of all attendees, it is imperative that security guards are on-duty round the clock. Thus, the help of as many adult volunteers as possible is needed. All Deacons and Elders are encouraged to sign up and be a part of the security team.
